Emma Thompson connects with us

Emma knows from personal experience what it is like to live with aphasia. Her father was Eric Thompson – the “voice” of The Magic Roundabout. He had a stroke when he was just 48 years old and all the family had to find new ways to communicate.

Connect does “an amazing job”

“It was a difficult time for all of us. I remember trying all different ways to communicate with Dad. This included making little cards with words and pictures on them,” says Emma.

“Helping my father was one of the best and most painful things I’ve ever done. I feel very strong empathy towards everyone living with aphasia. Over the last ten years, Connect has done an amazing job supporting people with aphasia like my Dad to re-connect with life. I wish Connect even greater success in the future.”
