Successful stroke services - positive policy, positive practice

Examine what the Department of Health Stroke Strategy means for your service

Are you excited that at long last there is a strategy for development of stroke services in England?  Are you pleased that there is a whole chapter entitled Life after Stroke, but feel daunted about delivering it?  Are you enthusiastic about rising to the challenge of delivering services that live up to the strategy?

This course, utilizing Connect's experience of leading the Post-Hospital Care Project Group for the Department of Health Stroke Strategy team, will unpack the thinking behind the strategy and its implications for hospital and community health and social care service providers.   It will provide examples of tried and tested ways of delivering creative and progressive services that enable people living with stroke and aphasia to gain the confidence and skills to develop a new life after stroke.  The course will also offer an opportunity for you to develop the skills and confidence to deliver the stroke strategy and to reflect on, and plan, how you can shape your services to meet the strategy.
