Bristol Feedback Project

In this project we trained eleven people with aphasia from the Bristol area to become communication skills trainers. This involved learning about conversation, developing skills to give feedback to healthcare workers and then taking on a role in the practical training of those who work with people with aphasia. So far the Feedback team have trained Stroke Co-ordinators, Stroke Teams based in North Bristol, community centre staff and volunteers working in Bristol and Exeter. And the personal benefits to the Feedback trainers? Confidence, doing something real, spreading the word about aphasia and what helps.
