Peer Support for People Living with Stroke

This project looks at how to enable people with aphasia and their relatives to support each other in living with stroke and aphasia

Working together with service providers, service users and other community contacts across Lambeth & Southwark, this project developed a stroke peer support scheme.

The project trains people living with stroke to become peer support visitors. These peer supporters visit other local people with stroke to support, encourage and help them re-connect with life again.

Connect are using the learning from this project to help other service providers set up similar schemes. If you would like to find out more please contact Carole Pound on 020 7367 0870.

This successful project will now be sustained and managed by the Disability Service in Lambeth (DASL). Find out more about this in news
