About the course

We welcome all visitors to Connect. We offer two opportunities to visit us, a full day session and a half day session.

Full days

These days are a chance for visitors to see Connect in action and discuss issues relevant to their own practice. These days will introduce participants to the philosophy and practice of the Connect therapy and support programme for people living with long term aphasia. They will give an overview of ways of working with people with aphasia and their relatives.

Participants will have the opportunity to observe video sessions of therapies addressing communication, identity and lifestyle and discuss practical techniques and resources for supporting communication access. Participants will have the opportunity to debate current topics in aphasia management with Connect therapists, counsellors and clients.

Who is the course for?

Speech and language therapists, assistants and volunteers working with people with aphasia in any setting, other health care professionals, potential speech and language therapy students, other interested people and visitors from abroad.
