About the course

The National Service Framework for Older People and the Royal College of Physicians guidelines for stroke services both stress the importance of providing long-term, lifelong services for people living with stroke. These services need to support people to re-engage with life again after stroke and then to be a resource to sustain people as life, circumstances and experiences change. Many services are aware of the short term nature of much provision and would like to offer greater access to cost-effective, appropriate long term resources and services.

This conference will provide an opportunity to hear from service providers in the NHS, Social Services and the voluntary sector who are developing and providing long term services, and to learn about recent evidence for the effectiveness of these kinds of services.
