Quiz night raises funds for Connect

05 December 2011

Connect teamed up with London Bridge Hospital recently for a 'Pub Quiz' style fundraising evening. The event raised over £500 to support our services for people with aphasia.

Held at 'The Ship' pub in Borough, the evening saw teams from both organisations pit their wits against each other on a range of topics.

Connect’s Mike Forster thanked the London Bridge Hospital for their support and hailed the event as a big success. He said "The quiz night was great fun, and it was a good way for the two organisations to get to know each other – and of course to battle it out for the prizes."

"We look forward to a long, fruitful partnership with London Bridge Hospital in the future", he added.

John Reay, the London Bridge Hospital’s Chief Executive Officer, was delighted to fundraise for Connect as part of the hospital’s Supporting Local Charities campaign. "The charity is close to us, as we see many speech and language therapy patients visit the hospital to help treat their aphasia, some of which have benefitted from the work of Connect".

The partnership looks set to continue into 2012, with planning already underway for more fundraising events in the new year. For more information about London Bridge Hospital head to their website, and for details about how you can support Connect see our how to help pages.
