St Austell summer fete raises funds for Connect

27 June 2012

The St Austell Conversation Group in Cornwall held a summer fundraiser at the Eden Project Cafe in June, raising vital funds to support people with aphasia.

The event, held on June 19th in St Austell town centre raised a fantastic £360. All of the money will go to support Connect's essential services for people with aphasia.

Members of the conversation group Jean, Jane, Kelly and Zena were delighted that the day was such a success, and the sun even manged to shine!

Activities such as a tombola and a preloved clothes and books stall proved particularly popular and Jean, facilitator for the group, offered her thanks to the St Austell Community for their support throughout the day.

Connect in St Austell would also like to thank The Eden Project café for the loan of the venue, the very helpful volunteers that supported the event and the local businesses who donated very generous prizes for the raffle. Keep an eye out for future events!
