Alan Hewitt

Communication Access Co-ordinator

Alan is the Communication Access Co-ordinator at Connect. He had a brain haemorrhage in 1992 and now lives with aphasia. Alan holds a City & Guilds Certificate in Further Education Teaching (gained since his haemorrhage). He is Secretary to Central London Dysphasia Group, a self-help group.  Alan was a contributor to 'Aphasia Inside Out', a selection of essays to do with aphasia. Before he had his haemorrhage, he was Head of Development at National Energy Action (a UK fuel poverty charity). He tries to involve people with aphasia in all aspects of life.
